Therapist - Alfredo Ramirez MSW, LCSW, LADC

Alfredo Ramirez, MSW, LCSW, LADC, is a Certified Master Social Worker and Licensed Mental Health Practitioner in the State of Nebraska. He is also a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Mr. Ramirez has close to 40 years experience in the field of human services. He currently is in private practice and is the Executive Director of Odyssey III Counseling Services, P.C. in Norfolk, Nebraska. Clinical work includes the areas of individual, couple, group and family. He specializes in addictions evaluations and treatment. His body of work focuses on trauma including child and adult sexual abuse along with treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. Further, his work emphasis is on phobias, grief counseling, anger control and posttraumatic stress disorders. His clinical concentration is also on personality disorders, custody evaluations and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

A primary focus has been to work with individuals, families and adolescents who have suffered trauma, encountered problems with adjustment, or children with conduct disorders or reactive attachment issues. In addition, his work with children and adolescents is in the area of Attention Deficit Disorders, Conduct Disorders, and other behavioral disorders. His experience as a social worker helps him to utilize all the community resources, including the schools, the courts, state probation, and the family, to help the adolescent succeed.

Mr. Ramirez has conducted local, state and national workshops on family dysfunction, addictions, child and adolescent problems and disorders as well as working with dysfunctional families. He also presents conferences on the treatment of chemical dependency issues and on domestic violence and men who batter and gang culture and rituals.

Mr. Ramirez is a member of The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is trained in the utilization of hypnosis to treat pain, smoking cessation, anxiety and depression. He also uses hypnosis to help individuals gain insight on life management skills for better decision and problem solving. He is also the Northeast Clinical Director for Nebraska Critical Incident Stress Management and has served about 10 years on the Norfolk District School Board. His memberships include the Nebraska Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the National Association of Social Workers and serves as Chair for the Nebraska Foster Care Review Board with 22 years on the local Foster Care Review Board reviewing out of home placements of children in foster care.
