Alfredo RamirezTherapist - Alfredo Ramirez

Alfredo Ramirez, LCSW, CADAC, is a Certified Master Social Worker and Licensed Mental Health Professional in the State of Nebraska. He is also a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Mr. Ramirez has over thirty years’ experience in the field of human services. He currently is in private practice and is the Executive Director of Odyssey III Counseling Services, P.C. in Norfolk, Nebraska. Clinical work is in the area of the individual, couple, group and family. He specializes in addictions evaluations and treatment, childhood trauma including sexual abuse and treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. Further, his work emphasis is on phobias, grief counseling, anger control and posttraumatic stress disorders. His clinical concentration is also on personality disorders, custody evaluations and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders.

A primary focus has been to work with adolescents who have suffered trauma, encountered problems with adjustment, or have conduct disorders or reactive attachment issues. In addition, his work with children and adolescents is in the area of Attention Deficit Disorders, Conduct Disorders, and other behavioral disorders. His experience as a social worker helps him to utilize all the community resources, including the schools, the courts, state probation, and the family, to help the adolescent succeed.

Mr. Ramirez has conducted local, state and national workshops on family dysfunction, addictions, child and adolescent problems and disorders as well as working with families with emotionally disturbed children. He also presents conferences on the treatment of chemical dependency issues and on domestic violence and men who batter.

Karen Anne MarraTherapist - Karen Anne Marra
M.S.E./P.L.M.H.P.

Karen is also a licensed Registered Nurse who has made a transition to the field of psychotherapy. She holds membership in the American Counseling Association and is a life-time member of the University of Nebraska Alumni Association. Karen is currently working on achieving a provisional license as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Her field of study has been in Interdisciplinary Psychology/Sociology and Human Service Counseling.

Karen will provide counseling services for a range of mental health issues including depression, anger control and anxiety as well as conducting alcohol/drug evaluations and counseling. She will serve individuals, families, couples and youth.

Skie C. Peltier-AndersonTherapist - Skie C. Peltier-Anderson
M.A./P.L.M.H.P.

Skie graduated with her Master's degree in 1998 and has a 10 year history of volunteer work in the area of human services. She is experienced as a Sexuality Therapist having worked in individual and group therapy with adolescent male sex offenders and also implementing sex education curriculum. Skie has previous experience in crisis counseling and provided support for adults and adolescents with abuse trauma. She brings a wide range of other experiences including group therapy using cognitive behavioral interventions. She recently was employed as a Nebraska State Probation Officer managing a caseload and supervising probationers. Skie has ten years of volunteer work for various committees involved in victim advocacy.

Skie will provide mental health counseling services for adolescents, families and couples who are experiencing difficulties with depression, trauma, victims of violence as well as anxiety, anger and problems with life issues.

Job Corps

The local Job Corps office is located within the Odyssey III Counseling Services PC office. Job Corps is a career development program for young people between the ages of 16 and 24 (cannot have reached 25th birthday unless they have a disability and then upper age limit may be waived) in need of job training/career development. Individuals must be willing to work on obtaining a GED/high school diploma (if don't have already), leave home area and live in Job Corps center, and participate in job training classes such as carpentry, welding, health occupations, business clerical, plastering, cement masonry, culinary arts, and auto mechanics (more available). NO COST to attend Job Corps; students receive small living allowance, free room and board, clothing allowance, and basic medical, dental, and eye care.
